The Fumed Squiggle Marbled Natural Perc Sherlock Bubbler by Mary Jane’s Glass brings some serious old-school glasswork to a substantial Sherlock shape! This Sherlock bubbler features gold and silver squiggles winding through the curved neck, while delicate fume lines decorate the oversized bowl. A marble perched along the edge of the bowl adds an extra focal point, with a beautiful fume spiral captured inside the clear glass.
A technique where vaporized metal, most commonly silver or gold, is deposited onto hot glass to create thin metallic coloration that changes with lighting and surrounding glass.
The large, open core and natural-perc bend are evenly silver fumed, creating a metallic backdrop that contrasts nicely with the more detailed glasswork. The sits beneath the open chamber, where smoke has plenty of room to collect before traveling through the sweeping stem. Add a small amount of water to the compact reservoir and the natural perc bubbles smoke through the water for cooling and filtration.
A simple water-filtration design where smoke exits directly from the opening of the downstem into the water chamber, creating bubbles without a separate diffuser or percolator attachment.
The oversized thumb-plus bowl gives you plenty of room for a generous pack, while the horn extending from the bowl helps stabilize the piece when resting on a flat surface. The compact water reservoir works with a modest water level to help minimize spills when the bubbler is set down. A comfortable flared mouthpiece completes the long, curved Sherlock profile, and the silver fume can develop richer blues and purples with use.
Between the flowing squiggles, crisp bowl lines, and that little spiral tucked inside the marble, there’s a lot to appreciate here. The Fumed Squiggle Marbled Natural Perc Sherlock Bubbler brings together intricate fume work, a generous bowl, and a satisfying water-filtered draw in one distinctive piece!
