The Fumed Squiggle Natural Perc Sherlock Bubbler by Mary Jane’s Glass brings a beautiful mix of gold and silver work to a substantial old-school Sherlock! Flowing fume squiggles wind through the neck, while fine fume lines decorate the oversized bowl. The open core and natural-perc bend are evenly silver fumed, creating a smooth metallic background that lets the detailed sections stand out.
A technique where vaporized metal, most commonly silver or gold, is deposited onto hot glass to create thin metallic coloration that changes with lighting and surrounding glass.
The sits below the large, open chamber, giving smoke plenty of room to collect before traveling up the curved stem. Add a small amount of water to the compact reservoir below the bowl and the natural perc bubbles smoke through the water for cooling and filtration. The generous chamber gives you a great view of the smoke as it builds, while the sweeping neck leads into a comfortable flared mouthpiece.
A simple water-filtration design where smoke exits directly from the opening of the downstem into the water chamber, creating bubbles without a separate diffuser or percolator attachment.
The oversized thumb-plus bowl has plenty of room for a generous pack, with a horn extending from the bowl to help stabilize the piece when resting on a flat surface. The compact water reservoir works with a modest water level, helping keep spills to a minimum when the bubbler is set down. As the silver fume develops with use, richer blues and purples can begin to show through the glasswork.
The contrast between the detailed fume squiggles, precise bowl lines, and evenly fumed core gives this Sherlock bubbler plenty of character. The Fumed Squiggle Natural Perc Sherlock Bubbler brings together traditional fume work, a substantial bowl, and a satisfying water-filtered draw in one impressive piece!
