Every glassblower starts somewhere, and the Padawan Pipes series gives you a chance to follow that journey as our in-house apprentices build their skills at the torch.
The Advanced Training Series represents the next step in that process. These spoon pipes come from a more refined stage of the learning curve, where the fundamentals are becoming second nature and our Padawans can start putting more attention into cleaner shaping, better proportions, tighter details, and a little more personality.
Like the original Padawan Pipes, each one is handmade and internally fumed with silver, but these pieces show a noticeable step forward in overall execution. Bowl sizes, bowl holes, carbs, shaping, and function have all become more dialed in as those hours behind the torch start paying off.
And because every pipe is individually handmade during the learning process, each Padawan Pipe is completely one of a kind. The shaping, fume patterns, proportions, and personality of the piece belong to that individual pipe. Once it’s gone, there isn’t another one exactly like it waiting in the wings.
They’re still Padawans—but the Force is definitely getting stronger.
No extra tricks needed on this one.
This Padawan keeps things focused on the fundamentals, pairing classic internal silver fume with some of the cleaner shaping and more refined function coming out of the series.
These pipes are a great look at what happens as repetition starts turning into consistency. The bowls are better proportioned, the bowl holes and carbs are more dialed in, the overall shaping is cleaner, and the finished pipe feels more deliberate from one end to the other.
Without additional decorative elements taking center stage, the silver fume gets to do the talking. Each pipe develops its own unique patterns through the shaping process, making every one a completely individual piece even though they share the same classic fumed construction.
This is the Padawan Pipes concept at its core: a one-of-a-kind, functional handmade spoon that shows an apprentice getting better every time they sit down at the torch.
Score yourself a great piece of handmade glass at a killer price and support the learning process along the way.
